Lagunitas Gnarlywine

My palate is not yet honed to pick out different flavors (I’m not sophisticated, okay?). The one I tried reminded me of hoppy diesel fuel. It wasn’t my thing.

Back in 2008 I bought a case of it. It had to cellar a couple years before my palate began to accept it. Now there’s only a couple bottles left.  :-[

Thanks Euge. That helps me understand where I took a wrong turn.

This is a beer style that benefits from cellar aging in the bottle. The older the it gets the more oxidation and aging effects which lends smoothness or an aged character. I like to cellar them for a year or two at a minimum. Some folks like them fresh but they are sharper in character. YMMV

Can you buy this in smaller than 22-oz bombers?

No, it used to come in 12 oz bottles too, but now only in 22oz.
