Malt extract to Grain

I found this clone i want to make but i cant find a allgrain recipe

it asks for

6# gold LME
1# Light DME
1# Crystal 80

Would it be wrong to assume that i could sub 9# 2row for the extract.
I am also guessing there is Carapils in there too somewhere?

I think you probably could, but the problem with anything other than light extract is that you don’t really know what’s in it.  I don’t think I’d use carapils along with the C80, but it depends…what kind of beer is it?

Anyone have thoughts how to make this brew allgrain

That’s where I’d start, minus the carapils.  Might take a few tires to get it right, though.

Yeah I was thinking no carapils. I personally don’t put them in my brews

I use it sometimes.  It’s just another tool and sometimes you need it, sometimes you don’t.  With your recipe, start off with the basics and compare it to what you’re going for.  If you don’t get what you want, adjust one ingredient at a time and brew it again until you get where you’re going.
