So… I am using a Hochkurz mash and it started raining a bit on the Big Deck (which is where I brew) so I decided to boil my Dextrinization rest addition inside. Then all hell broke loose and a gully washer blew in, my canopy protecting the mash/lauter tun went flying, and my power went out. Now my 2nd rest is sitting on the stove at 140* of my 200* target while I continue to mash outside. I am at 52 min and counting of what was supposed to be a 30 min Maltose rest. I think this is gonna be one fermentable wort. I am naming this one Storm the Castle!

Thrilling indeed! It quit storming long enough for me to use the propane burner to get to my 158F rest temp. My total Maltose rest was ~58 min. at 142F. Oh boy! LOL
