Beautiful golden hued strong-ale. Lightly bitter balanced by acidity and a faint honeyed aftertaste. I cannot taste the 9% alcohol. Lightly carbonated and medium-bodied mouth-feel.
As always a finely crafted product from DFH. Not really what I’m looking for in a beer but there’s three more to “investigate”. Maybe my opinion will change. It’s been available to me for years but this is a first try.
Is this beer 100% hop-free?

Their website state’s that the IBU-12, no mention of what type of hops though
This is a great beer from DFH ancient ale series. I have never tried a beer like this. All of the unique ingredients come together in such an awesome, smooth way that I could easily drink a few of these. All beer produced in the U.S., to my knowledge is mandated by law to include hops. In Sam’s book Extreme Brewing, he includes the recipe. They use Simcoe Hops for this beer.

Of course everything from DFH is amazing, but if hard pressed to choose a favorite, it’d be an impossible decision between worldwide stout and 120 minute IPA.
Midas touch is pretty good though, albeit rather strangely and wonderfully different from anything else I’ve ever tried.
I like Midas touch, we can get it in grocery stores here in jax. Recently had Ta Henket and loved it. Couldn’t drink a lot of it but still an interesting beer with a great back story.
