Nerd Alert! Star Wars Action Figures

I still have both of these, alas not in original package…

This one too…

I have a box of those that I let my nephew play with.

Han Solo, Bespin outfit, customized by my dog 30+ years ago.

Wish I would have thought of this 30 some years ago.

Every year I buy a complete MLB card set for my son.  I bought one the year he was born and every year since.  They are all unwrapped.  He doesn’t quite get the value now, but maybe in 30 years he will be able to buy a house or boat when he sells them.

Wait a second!

“IG-88 droid sells for £4,200 and Han Solo figure £2,000”

Are you telling me that they thought Han Solo was worth less than half as much as an IG-88 Droid? that’s just silly

Perhaps, but so few people actually know what you are talking about - it was quickly shelved from manufacturing… along with a dozen or so other more obscure characters.

What is sad is that I told my Dad that some day those things would be worth something, but he absolutely refused to let me buy them. /sigh Perhaps sadder is that I know what the IG-88 droid is.

AGGGGGGGGGGG!
Back in the 60s I had all the first issues of the Marvel heroes.

Not me. I love Star Wars and I’m not ashamed. Not saying I’m going out dressing like the characters or anything but I do own the prequels on DVD.

Yes !  There is a middle ground - I don’t dress up like freaking Chewbacca or go to the sci fi conventions, but I own all the movies on dvd. You can like Star Wars and have a spouse (or girlfriend), and a life.

I admit, I waited in line for the midnight showing of Phantom Menace. I had a Darth Maul Taco Bell cup topper crazy glued to the dash of my first car. But I’ve never played dress up. My son was a stormtrooper last Halloween, but that doesn’t count…

OTOH if there was such thing as a real light saber I would wield one.

;D  Yeah, a lot of feuds would get settled by the saber.

EDIT - My son is 13 and dresses up like Star Wars characters most Halloweens, which is great. Not so great for his 48 y/o Dad.

I saw that and immediately thought, these are not the droids you’re looking for. [emoji15]

Nothing wrong with dressing up

Star Wars?  Never heard of it.

I dressed up as Luke Skywalker at a Halloween party in college once.  Got pretty wasted too but thankfully no so wasted that I tried doing backflips off the roof and anything stupid like that.  I do think I cross over to the dark side a little bit and tried to force choke a couple people though.  ;D

I am not afraid to say I love Star Wars.  It was a huge part of my childhood.  One of my friends as a kid used to get one figure to play with and one to keep sealed.  I cant imagine how much the collection he had would be worth.  My parents got rid of most my Star Wars stuff, but somewhere buried in a stone tomb in their yard is the Han Solo bespin. He was one of my favorite figures and needed to be buried properly rather than thrown out.
This was my label this year

My Dad just recently uncovered my old cases of Star War figures and Hot Wheels. They’re not in original packaging but are in very good condition.  What a blast from the past.

i still have the star wars trading cards and the rubber mcdonalds star wars action figures.

6500 active members showing up dressed in full storm trooper regalia… that takes a lot of dedication, and I love Star Wars and have been to comicon. Their mission is to promote Star Wars, active on 5 continebts, holy schnikes batman!

I bent my wookiee.
