One afternoon in Memphis

Heading to Memphis for work next month and have one afternoon to myself.

I need two things.
1 - Can’t miss Pork BBQ
2 - Can’t miss local beers

Don’t know a thing about Memphis beer and bbq but love your plug for Jonathan.

Which I now see is not visible on tapatalk.

Honestly I’m not a big fan of sweet bbq, so I wasn’t that impressed with their bbq. But that’s my texas bias.
The Commissary was the best place when I went last year for Q. Central bbq was pretty good as well.
If I remember correctly Memphis only has one or two breweries. Ghost River was ok. I might recommend going to the flying saucer (I believe you have one near you in the metroplex). They have Yazoo and Fat Bottom, which were my favorite breweries from Nashville.

Saucer has 25% off food with AHA card

We were there for a weekend last year.  No breweries downtown, but local beer was available in a lot of places, such as Flying Saucer and Local Gastropub (?) on the street with the historic trolleys.  Central BBQ was good and had good local beers as well.

I did not know that. Pretty awesome. I’m working on my second plate for the wall, hopefully I can bait SWMBO to go more often if we have 25% off food.

I’ve never been to Memphis but my parents have and liked  Rendezvous BBQ.  They are from Kansas City so they know what they’re talking about.
