Well, for us anyway. We got my youngest son Max a Guinea Pig for Christmas. He named it Henry. This morning he says “Hey, Henry had babies!” My wife thought mice had gotten in the cage somehow over night. lol!
So, we are changing her name to Henrietta now. What a crazy coincidence. The really weird thing was a couple of weeks ago out of noweher I started calling the Pig a “she” to which my youngest had to constantly correct me.
I was wondering why that thing got so fat! Pics to come.
OK, here’s the best part. We posted a Q on a Guinea Pig forum about what to do and are getting fussed at for buying our Pig at a pet store and for not being aware of proper care. I wanted to tell them I made a yeast starter and read How to Brew, but I didn’t think they’d get it.
We bought two “female” gerbils when I was a kid. A couple months later, seven babies. So then we had to start separating the males and females, and Papa Gerbil didn’t get along with the kids, so we had to have three cages… my parents were thrilled.
Yeah, well now you know how all the new guys feel when you cuss them out right from the start for fermenting to warm, and not making a starter. Serves you right!! ;D
