Nice Arcadia Brewing Co. India Pale Ale glass! ;D

Nice brewstand.

I’m working on putting one together very soon.

How much time does it trim off your brew day as opposed to the more conventional homebrew systems?

I’m not sure. My favorite thing about brewing is the ability to lose track of time completely. All I know for sure is that it takes a lot of strain off my back not having to lift sparge water to dump into the mash tun anymore

I’m with you on that one. What a great hobby.  8)

Jeff that is my handwriting on those Challenger hops from Rebel!

I thought that might have been your order when I pulled it awhile back.

Nice system!  I’m just doing a gravity fed system but it is much easier now that I built a brew stand instead of stacking things up in a precarious balancing act as I used to.

Nice system.  I’m in the process of building a brutus ten as well. ;D

I just used rebel brewer on my last brew.  He did a great job.

IMHO Rebel is the best online brew shop there is…if only they would start a forum and call it Southern Brewer

ahhhh, showoff  ;D

A 14 gallon conical is going to be my big purchase of 2010.

My envy is now visible.

lbm, I would think about putting a concrete “paving” stone or something underneath that burner, just my opinion.

They work good for elevating conicals also 8)

yeah but I am talking about the bigger ones.  Like the stepping stone size. Big enough that you only need 1 underneath the burner.  but yes.

not following ya. Are you talking about on my Brutus? What is the function of the concrete block? To raise it?

I think he was talking about yeastmaster’s gravity fed wood system.

 I assumed he was talking about my system too.  If I had a welder I would have built something out of steel but I have woodworking tools so that is what I went with.  I really don’t have a problem with the burner.  The vast majority of the heat is directed upwards so there isn’t much heat under the burner myself.  I do make sure that I don’t have the burner too close to the tier that supports the mash tun.  At some point I will probably add a heat shield to it.

That clears up my confusion.

yep, my bad.
