Poppers

Jalapeno Poppers ;D

2oz cream cheese
6oz sharp cheddar
2tbs chile powder
1tsp chipotle sauce
cut peppers in halves, fill with spread, cook 12-15mins @300f
Enjoy  ;D

Yeah, artery poppers.  :o

Looks good tho.

Those would be better if they were wrapped in bacon!

Then battered and fried.

Or put in the smoker!!!  Ummmmmmm ABTs!  8)

… and smoked

What you are referring to is the Atomic Buffalo Turd

Didn’t somebody already call these “artery poppers”?  Battered and fried takes that to a whole new level!

MMMMMMMM

Uthristy…I just stole your recipe and going to give them a try this weekend. ;D

In South Carolina, If it ain’t fried, it ain’t food.

Hell-fire, we’ll even deep fry a clump of salt down here. Add hot peppers to it and you can feed your ulcer and blood pressure at the same time.

tubercle

We Yankees (hate that term as I am a Sox fan) invented frying

Have you ever seen a fried fishermans platter?

Sh!t fire I tell you what

Prepare for the whine…

Those gorgeous peppers are nearly impossible to find in these parts. If I do find them, they cost about 3 euros for 4. I’ve found some workable African peppers for chili sauce and stuff, but damn, I miss the poppers. If anybody comes to Brussels, I’m happy to play tour guide and maybe even share the bounty of my cellar, but you must bring jalapenos.

You know I’m planning on a trip to Belgium (F1 race) and just may take you up on the offer.  Do you have any place to grow a couple plants?

Hmm… Interesting… Yeah, I could find a spot for a couple plants. I don’t know how well they’d grow in Belgium at the end of August. I could try. Anyway, I’ll be around at that time and I’m happy to show you around. You like beer, right?

Cool we’re still working the travel details and I’ll try to work it into the plans ;D

Ha, uthirsty. I know I’m pretty safe in these parts, but I’m afraid of the day when someone comes to visit who doesn’t like beer. I don’t know what to do with them. “Um, I think there’s a cool museum or something over there somewhere…”

As for offerings from abroad, Cholula is also acceptable. Include some Uncle Brutha’s #9 and a vertical tasting of various years of Pannepot, Pannepot Reserva and Pannepot Grand Reserva becomes likely.

Just a heads-up, we’ll be in Brussels twice (picking up & dropping off rental car) so the odds have doubled ;D

The sauces shouldn’t be a problem, heck Cholula Chipotle is my house sauce and I’ll look around for Uncle Brutha’s #9.

I’m looking to find this beer> Viven Imperial IPA couldn’t find it this past april in Antwerp but did find Troubadour Magma IPA

Would you be able to look around for a bottle of each?

ciao

Way cool.

I don’t know those beers, but they sound yummy. I’ll do some searching. After an initial bit of research, it looks like distribution is not widespread. Still, I’ll see what I can do.

One minor rant - more freakin’ Proef beers. Doesn’t anybody have their own brewery anymore?

August,27am  we’ll be leaving Amsterdam  heading  to Brussels Zuidstation(Midi)  to get our car before heading to  Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.

So we’ll be in arriving there around mid-afternoon +/-, before heading to Spa-Francorchamps.

I’ll have more details later & hope my vodafone number is still valid.

You’re getting the car at Midi? Huh, interesting. That’s an easy run to Moeder Lambic Fontainas from there.

Look what I found:

Notice that the bottle is empty. There are 2 left. Better hurry.

Wife says thats the station we get off to go pick up the car… which means we could be walking to find the rental shop.

So how was the beer?  :D  We had the Troubadour Magma IPA on draft but wasn’t able to find Viven Imperial IPA in Antwerp.

< edit to add >
I called the wife to confirm the car rental shop was at or near  Midi station, she’ll get back with me later tonight.
