So I’m still relatively new to homebrewing and new to this community. This beer is on day 7 of fermentation and have noticed white strands that is attached to the sides of my fermenter. There is also an off smell from the beer. Any insight would be appreciated.

Those strands wouldn’t concern me. It looks like strings of yeast (and maybe trub) that are just clinging to the side after the krausen fell. Have you tasted it? Sometimes fermentations can give off odd smells as they go. If you aren’t use to them, they might seem concerning. I’m sure it is probably fine.
Main insight : don’t throw anything away until it’s fully fermented. Some amazing beers can smell and taste pretty bad while fermenting.
I agree…it’s nothing to worry about.
+2 - let it age some more. Always wait before dumping.
