Protocol for BJCP Entry Form when Hop Amounts Don't Fit on Scoresheet

I’m sure this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find an answer anywhere. I’m filling out the BJCP Entry/Recipe form for an IPA I brewed. I used way more hops than will fit in the space provided. Do you just put the hop schedule entirely on the back of the form or begin filling it in the spaces provided then continue on the back?

Thanks,

Jason

If the comp doesn’t require it, don’t list it.

I never fill those out unless it happens to win and then they want the recipe.

I never give them the recipe unless the competition instructions specifically require it.  If they just say “fill out the form”, I don’t give them the recipe.  Never received a complaint.  The judges do not get to look at the recipe.  It’s only for if you win Best of Show and somebody else wants to brew it, which is pretty rare unless it’s a very small comp.

If they insist upon the recipe, just put a note “continued on next page” and attach a second form in the same format.

The judges will be able to tell what your recipe was just by tasting it. [emoji41]

Thanks for all of the suggestions. It’s a competition a brewery here in Seattle is putting on where the winner will have their recipe scaled up in some form. I’ll just call them up and confirm how they’d like the entry form filled out. As I said, it’s an IPA so it has in the neighborhood of 15 hop additions. That’s a lot of writing.

Thanks again,

Jason
