Hi, Goose! Thank you for offering. The invitations for NHC judging have not gone out yet, but it is invitation only for the Finals, as it has been for a long time. If you are National or above, you will likely be receiving an invite. If not, we will be looking for stewards, which I believe also qualifies as being active. There are also 9 first-round sites actively looking for judges right now. Pick your closest one and sign up today! There will also be BJCP exams at HBC, which also qualifies as ‘activity’ as far as I know.

No, you’re not crazy. This was something that the First Round Organizers requested yesterday to facilitate the sorting of hundreds of entries at each site.
I added this feature to the BAP sites last night. Unfortunately, this has caused issues already, so we are in the process of looking for a different solution that will not require any entrant input.

Have the San Diego regional entries been completely checked in? I sent a 12-pack (6 entries) and I have 5/6 checked in from the emails (no spam).
Normally just ask the site organizer in San Diego. I logged in and looked and I see 6 entries for you that are ‘sorted’ so you should be all set.
