Question about Beverage Center wires

Beverage center has a red wire and a black wire going from the thermostat to the compressor.

Is the red wire the hot wire and is the black wire the neutral wire? The red wire goes to something (a switch?) labeled OLP. The black wire goes the the compressor starter.

Thinking this might be correct as the motor I purchased for my malt mill had these colors of wires (red for hot and black for neutral).

I’ve asked the manufacturer, but haven’t had a reply.

Appreciate any input.

I am not familiar with this specific device, but the convention is the neutral (black wire) is connected to the compressor. The hot (white wire) is connected to a switching device (thermostat). The wire from the thermostat to the compressor is red to distinguish it from the hot. When the switch is closed, the red wire is connected to hot.

I can insert the schematic, but can’t figure out how to do so.

You need to host it somewhere and insert a link.  You cannot directly upload to the forum.

My guess is that OLP stands for Overload Protection. It makes sense for the hot lead to go through that.

I should be able to verify with a VOM. Hot wire will always show voltage. Neutral wire will only show voltage when the thermostat switch is closed.
