Question about pitch rate.

Just looking for clarification on pitch rate calculation. When a brewer lists their pitch rate in a recipe, let’s say fer the sake of argument, 16. Am I correct in assuming that “16” refers to 16 million cells per ml of wort?

Could be. It could also be pounds, or kilograms, or liters, or trillions of cells, or…

yup. you may be right. I went with my gut and just pitched the right amount. The million/ml seemed to be the only one that made sense and matched up with my calculations.

Always the best strategy!
