So, if I have a facebook account and I’m friends with people, can you see who my friends are if you are not friends with me? Also, if I friend someone on facebook and they friend me back can they see if I un-friend them? Also, can you see if I “Like” someone if you are not friends with them?
There are privacy settings- one will show everything to anyone , the other will only show your information to people you have friended
They may notice that you are not on their list of friends anymore, but they don’t get a notice. I don’t know this for sure- I don’t think I have been unfriended by anyone.
3.This will depend on their privacy settings-see #1
Absolutely turn your privacy settings on to where you feel comfortable. There is a private message that can be sent that will only be seen by that person, it will not show anywhere on their page for anyone regardless of their settings.
When you do like or comment on something, it can be seen by all of that persons friends, and if one of those friends also comments it can be seen by all of that persons friends too. So it can get around quick.
I would suggest you start a yellowhammer page. You can give out tons of info that way. Come on you are not that old.
hope you guys didn’t like the fake one. The “real” page has updates about our tasting room. The fake one is in the process of being taken down via copyright attorney. It wants you to fill out a form for a free coaster - that’s an information collection scam so don’t do it! Funny thing, someone here warned me that could happen and while I brought it to the attention of my partners we never did anything about it till it was too late.
In the past few years, Facebook has given me the opportunity to meet and get to know tons of brewers, homebrewers and craft beer lovers in my area. I love meeting new people and making new friends, be it online or in person. There’s no way I could meet that many people without Facebook!
I kinda got forced into it to keep up with our YH page and everyone wanting the brewer to have a page. And I had to follow the lemmings because I was missing out on invites to events. Plus I reconnected with some old friends I haven’t talked to in 25 years. So mostly a positive experience. I post on it once or twice a week. Kinda fun, actually. That said, I already have 100+ friends and I don’t see how people keep up with the news feed unless they spend hours on there every day. And those that have500+ friends, no idea how they keep up unless they are on 24/7.
In my opinion, facebook and twitter have revolutionized the local business. When I’m in a town like Grand Rapids I check out twitter and facebook for those breweries to see what they might have on tonight or maybe they’ve just tapped something special. Not having at least a facebook page sets you behind everyone else so I’m glad to see you’re keeping it up to date.
Face Book is a huge tool for businesses today! Glad to see you jumped on and I liked your page! I get all my brewery news form FB and love it. I find out about all the special events and offerings, beer festivals, brewery schedules etc. as already mentioned, when traveling I look up local pubs/breweries to find out what’s going on as well.
For the brewery it is easy to create an event and send it out to all those that have liked your page, people then share these events and word spreads rapidly. I can also find out about collaborations that are taking place between breweries, seasonal brews and pictures are always fun to see as well.
I know some breweries that have one person that does nothing but manage social media on staff to handle daily postings, replies to inquiries, posting pictures and linking blogs/twitter feeds and anything else that will drive business their way.
