whats the post office?
i keep emailing and faxing my beer to comps, this post office thing may help
To think, the US would finally throw off the shackles of the developing world and experience liberty!
AKA, I can send in my beers for comps! (La Poste refuse anything that looks bottle-shaped going towards the US, because apparently they get in big trouble if they violate those rules).
At least shipping to comps might be a bit cheaper.
I hope they do find a way to save the post office. I really can’t imagine this country without it’s postal system.

Keep in mind that at the moment this only applies to commercial beers, not homebrew. There’s a long way to go and it’s a slow process, but things are looking up.
Yeah. It said somewhere in the article something like “just like UPS and FedEx” and officially, those guys only ship from licensed commercial shippers. There’s a ways to go before we can legally ship homebrew to comps via USPS.
I get wine every month through Canada Post. I’m sure if a tiny, backwards little country like Canada can do it, the United States must be able to handle it.
The only way I think it would be cheaper is if it will fit in one of the flat rate boxes (or depending on the area shipping to the regional rate boxes). When I ship packages if it is over about 7-8 pounds it is always cheaper to ship UPS/fedex unless it fits in flat rate or falls under media mail.
I’d much rather ship beer USPS, they generally can move boxes across the country in 2-3 days vs Fedex/UPS Ground taking 6-8 days
A friend gets wine shipped to him from NY to TX. Will have to ask him about if it is USPS doing the job.
I am hitting em from the inside fellers…when ever we get a “what can we do to
gain business?” communique, I say let the people mail beer to competitions.
