Random gloatathon.

This last spring my house got infested with sugar ants. I am dealing with them, but that’s not the point of the thread. The point is, I keep my home brew system so clean I have yet to find a single ant interested in my beer.

Does anyone else have small or large victories, that they would like to pat themselves on the back for?

So, is that a compliment on your sanitation,
or a critique of your beer?

Complement on my situation… I hope. Actually I have no idea if ants have any interest in fermented beer, I’m just happy they haven’t noticed my wort.

If I had an ant problem they’d be all over my beer methinks. The inside of my fermenters and kettle are spotless, the outside not so much. I find that a little dried on wort gives you a much better grip.

Ants taste like little half ripe blackberries. Maybe catch a couple pounds and try them in the secondary?

I had a couple ants appear in a fermentor of mead. Not sure how or when they got in but I’m pretty sure it was before I put the stopper on. They did not survive very long.

Ants do flocculate well.

They are actually quite tasty. They have a nice zing to them. I wonder what a formic acid addition to a lambic would taste like…

Hilarious.  You beat me to it.  I was thinking ant lambic too !  Would make for one ugly pellicle !

Shuh!  Where do you think baby ants come from?  8)
