RIP Arte Johnson

I used to watch Laugh In all the time. Sock it to me.

Very interesting…

he was great

But kind of ridiculous!

Laugh In and Hollywood Squares seemed to be all I can remember him in, but he always stood out as a really funny guy.
RIP Arte

Centenarian cerebral ossification had me confused, I read Arte Johnson but was visualizing Wally Cox tipping over on the tricycle, completely forgetting “ferry interesting, BUT SHTUPIT!” It’s been a few years - but you know Goldie is still pretty damn hot:-).

Wasn’t he the Illinois Nazi in the Blues Brother’s’ Going out for a walk, correct me if I’m wrong.

Wikipedia says the Illinois Nazi was Henry Gibson – also on Laugh In.

I stand corrected.

I think your brain making that connection is impressive anyway.

Henry played the Nazi officer, and Arte played the German Army SGT always peering out from between the bushes.  Throw Ruth Buzzi in the mix and it always was funny.

Laugh-in in a nutshell.
