Can anyone share how they take samples with an auto siphon? Don’t have a thief and the turkey baster is way too short.
-Do you leave the hose attached?
-Do you only use the outer part of the siphon?
I always take the hose off the autosiphon to clean it. With no hose it’s easy for me to use the autosiphon with a couple of short strokes to fill the hydrometer jar.
Yeah that would work. I tried it with only the outer tube of the siphon and it did easily suck up beer but not enough to fill up my hydro test tube. Next time I will use the full assembly and pump.
