Sankey D Kegs

I am looking at using Kegs rather then bottling now! I am looking at Gopher Kegs out of Oregon but was wondering should I prime the Keg with Sugar or use CO2,
Also how do they fill them or are the Korney Kegs a better choice?

You can go either way when it comes to carbonating. I force carb, but know plenty that keg prime.

Can’t help you with sankey kegs. I know they require extra effort or equipment to use. I imagine most fill through the spear (fitting inside).

Sankey kegs can be a little bit tricky to use because it is difficult to pull the spear out. It is essentially a closed system all the time and so you need to be able to clean and fill with it sealed up. That being said, if you can fill and clean easily, they are a much better system than corny kegs. There are so many ways a corny keg can fail - the connects, poppets, lid, pressure relief - can all leak gas (or beer). Sankey kegs only have one connection.

You’re really not going to want to start with sankey kegs.  You’ll at least have to build a keg cleaner, since taking the spear out every time is a PITA.  Get some corneys.
