Topic says it all - I am in need of a short handled 2" butterfly valve to use on the bottom of my conical fermenter. The trigger valve that came with the unit runs into the support legs and can’t open fully 
I have had the same issue. Try rotating the valve so the handle doesn’t run into the leg. The handle doesn’t have to parallel to the ground for the valve to work properly. That is how i solved the problem.
