Should one replace lines after using for cider

One of the workers at my LHBS mentioned that I should replaced my line after having used it for cider if I’m going to put a beer keg back on that tap.  He said that it was due to the acidity of the cider.  I didn’t question him further but now as that cider keg is nearly empty I’m curious as to whether his advice is prudent or not.  Does anyone have experience with this issue?

I freely interchange equipment for beer and cider.  His concern is unwarranted.  Does he have personal experi3nce with this? I’ve been using the same equipment for beer and cider for years and I’ve never seen it.

of coarse he will say that so you buy more hose and spend more money at his shop

I just do my usual flush with PBW or BLC, followed by Star San. Never had an issue.

Thanks for the input.  I’ll plan to not change the lines as I’m lazy anyways.  Will try one of the other kegs in the keezer on that tap to see if I notice any effects of the cider that’s been in that line for 2-3 months

I don’t for ciders, but for my wild fermented beers, I do use a separate line.

I was thinking this lol I know not the same but I’ve heard people say they cleaned their sour lines and put normal beer in it and it was fine. Though, I haven’t tasted their beer and I wouldn’t risk it myself. Though, cider seems safe enough to me.
