I’ve been making a lot of 1 gallon batches of mead. I’d like to bottle some of the batches, but 12 oz bottles seem a little big. Anyone know where I can find smaller bottles, something like 6-8 oz? I searched around the web but so far can’t find anything.
My wife recently found Fever Tree ginger ale and tonic at the store in four packs. The bottles are clear, 6.8 ounces with regular crimp tops (not twist off). I have been recycling these for my meads so I won’t feel like it is wasted going to competitions…
If you judge or steward at competitions, you can ask for (and often receive) the empty small bottles that have been sent in to the comp.
My LHBS sells 7 oz splits. I have two cases I bought at my LHBS when we lived in Florida… I treasure every bottle and don’t let them get away. I am a small person who likes big beers, and these small bottles are the only way to go.
8.45 oz/25 cl bottles are super common around here - Paulaner has them, and pretty much all the grocery store beer brands do, too. I personally dislike them, because it means I need two for a pint.
Right now, Flying Dog is selling 8-packs of their high gravity beers in 7 oz amber bottles.
(I wondered why it was only 8 bucks for an 8-pack…)
Rogue is also using 7oz bottles for some of their imperials but selling them for $5 - $7 ea :o
Do they still make Little Kings? If you can stomach drinking it, my recollection is the bottles are around 7 or 8 oz.
They’re green, though.
Better yet, drink your way through a case of Thomas Hardy’s Ale!
