I had every intention of starting the garden today. It looked a little gloomy to the west.
But not bad.
I made it to the grocer for some missed items.
Come back out and it’s pouring.
Stop at Lowe’s and it’s hailing 1/2 stones.
Drive home at 30mph because of white out conditions(still hail). Get home, my plants are
shredded to bits. All the plants I had to put in the ground today, rabbit food. >:(
Here is what is left of the storm…They called it a super cell. But it is going on 4 hours. They’re
only supposed to last 45 min! And the pink hue on the pic is from the tornado warning box.
Bottom left you can see the diagonal red line for the edge of the warning area. I live in Brighton.
Well, Not too unusual in this area…I am on my 3rd roof in 17 yrs.
But Ruben, thru all this, I have learned it does not make much savvy to plant
above ground garden inhabitants before 1st of June…I never do…it just does
not seem to ever work…we get 90 days growing season if very very lucky and
more like 60 days.
May 10th is the “don’t plant before” date locally. David, didn’t you just get some more snow last week?

By the way it was 12" of hail not snow…
I lucked out. I have friends that were a block or two from the
girl that was hit by lightning in her house. They had the foot
of hail…They don’t garden though. They drink my beer.
I’ve been working the hell out of the garden today. Got more of the drip line in and got
it to “drip” correctly not “geyser” all over the place.
Hey been gone sorry for the reply lag. Went to Topaz Mountain in Utah collecting mineral specimens.
I actually got some Red Beryl, one of the rarest minerals on the planet…kewl!!! 8)
It did snow, now tho seems good to go on the gardening, in fact, I need to take mine to the next level,
and that is to uncover it from the winter blanket (weed barrier fabric) and get it goin on…
