stainless ball lock valve for soda bottle fills -- yes!

Been waiting awhile for this to replace the plastic Carbonator I have, which has been leaky from day one.

Excellent! this should be a good upgrade.  I still use my carbonator caps on every hydrometer sample but I never leave them attached to a gas line more than a couple minutes. Thanks for passing this along!

And…they are out of stock already.  This will be popular, as it sounds like it may outperform the plastic one, though I have few complaints with it as long as the soda bottle threads are well intact!  The silicone gasket on the stainless model is going to help with sealing tightly.

These have been around for quite awhile. I picked one up about a year ago. It is soooo much better than my carbonator caps.  My carbonator caps always leak.  I also like the ‘Kent’ ones MoreBeer sells but you need a separate hookup for them. I forget the other retailers but there are others that sell the stainless ones like this…

If it comes down to the soda threads maybe I’ll just quick wrap them in plumber’s tape to have all the bases covered.  When they come back in stock, that is.

Finally. >:(

Just the first few results I found for it. I actually ordered from homebrew stuff from Amazon on 9/12/12

Hmm none of my links posted… basically amazon, adventures in homebrewing, etc…

Just Google “stainless carbonation cap”

The one from homebrewstuff comes up on amazon for $20.  Can’t tell if it’s as disassemblable (sorry bad word choice) as the one from williams.  Williams is priced better ($14 now though out of stock) and all components are replaceable.

The homebrewstuff one does not have the dip tube and stuff. Don’t understand why you would want that though…

And I just dropped $20 on a new plastic carbonator cap! It’s performance was frustrating at first but works just fine now. I think cranking down on the prior two caps took their toll and they eventually failed. Regardless, I want a SS cap! Thanks…

I’m guessing it has to do with serviceability. On the plastic ones there’s no way to remove the poppet that I’m aware of.

Yeah I suppose… I can’t see needing to remove it though.
