Storms in the southeast

My heart goes out out to everyone killed, injured, or left homeless due to the tornadoes in the southeast.  I’m especially concerned about Keith.  A map on CNN shows a tornado hit Huntsville, where the brewery is.  Let’s have some good vibes for all the people in the area and especially our brewing bro.

Waiting to see a post from him . . . or from someone who has spoken to him.  Would love to hear from tommeier too.

Man, I had no idea Major was in danger. I have some realtives North of Atlanta. LAst I heard they were ok, not sure about today though. Wishing the best for Major. That’s all he needs after his recent run of bad batches. Anyone got his number?

His account showed him active at 7am this morning, so hopefully that’s a good sign.

It’s very sad to see the death toll keep rising as the week goes on.  I hope everyone down there lands on their feet.

One of my sisters has a house about 2 miles from the St. Louis Airport in the town of Ferguson.  She says she and her family are okay with minimal damage to the house.  Everyone is hoping this weather pattern moves on soon and they can start getting back to normal.

Here’s to all those people who are learning to deal with our mid-West weather.  Hurricanes are scary but at least you can see them coming and prepare.  I know exactly what they are going through (Iowans are usually a bit too laid back when it comes to tornadoes) and I wish them the best of luck.

I grew up in IA.  The screen at out drive in movie would get blown down every year.  Seems like one small town would disappear every tornado season.  I spent a memorable afternoon hiding from a tornado in a church basement after dropping acid…

Hey Denny-
I talked to Keith on the phone this morning. He and his wife/kids were fine. No damage to their place. No power but he seemed to escape any damage.

Thanks Brandon,
I was thinking about him when I heard of tornadoes in Huntsville.

So no we all need to pray for his fermentation temp control.

EDIT : I’msorry Major. Too soon?  ;D

The Red Cross texted me for help… reply to donate. I hope it ends up in the right place.

Wow, thank goodness to some of our friends being safe, I hope all of our brewers and thier families are safe.

Denny,

Acid, church and tornado man it sounds like a perfect perscription to come up with the Wizard of OZ. Bet you have a better story than that one!

I’ve been thinking about him all day. I hope he’s okay. I was thinking he would have replied to the AL homebrew bill thread but apparently not.

What a tragedy down there. My heart goes out to all of the victims.

I think Major kept using a land line for his interwebs access.
So with so much damage out there it may be a while.

Good vibes sent.

Those was one of the things I thought about first. Well after all the deaths. I’ve never heard of so many being killed at one time by tornadoes. F’ing awful man. That’s gotta top Katrina.

so did you see god that day? ;D

I remember summers back in Ohio. Man we used to get some great storms out there. Nothing like seeing the sky turn neon green to make your blood run cold. But, what happened down south is just unreal. So tragic, and sad. Makes me feel kind of morbid to think how much I love a good storm.

Same here Weaz, but the acid trip it is so much better. I don’t have a heart!!! Make me stop beating!!! WTF FLYING MONKEYS!!! I dont have RED SHOES!!! MF!!!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the well wishes. I am safe. No power. Phones just came back on line (and hence the dial up is back too!)

The brewery is “safe” but no power. That means cold room is shut off. Good news is it has been cool down here so I am not worried yet. Lost the batch I was working on when storm was bearing down on me. Even went back to try and save it (long story) but, alas, nothing I can do. Trying to conserve gas now. And food. Really need ice. That said, so far it hasnn;t been too bad. Kinda like camping at your house.

There is some serious damage in some areas. I went out to check on some family and saw some serious destruction. My sister’s church was flattened. But thankfully all I know are safe.

Hearing dowwn town huntsville may have power by monday. I am hoping that the brewery gets back on line before my house. Gotta have priorities.

Glad you’re ok, hope you have electricity soon and that things get back to normal for you.  Really sad about all the damage and destruction and I can’t imagine how the people who lost loved ones must feel.  Building, and beer, can be made new but unfortunately, not everything can.

Glad to hear you came through it okay Major.
