stuck fermintation

made an ipa sun. put 2 packs of 05 dry yeast after hydrating it didnt take off after 24hrs so i sprinkled 1 more packet of 05 on wart 24 hrs later still no results any thoughts

How do you know there is no fermentation going on?

Are you brewing in a bucket, carboy,  or stainless fermenter?

If glass you should be able to see fermentation occurring.

If plastic bucket, check to be sure that the lid is tightly pushed down (biggest culprit) and that there are no leaks.

Providing you had relatively fresh dry yeast packets, I would bet that your fermentation is well under way already. Don’t be afraid to quickly open the fermenter and take a peek inside. Let us know what you observe!

just opened lid to bucket nothing happening bought my yeast at a local supplier do you think the yeast could be bad

Three bad packs of dry yeast is highly unlikely.  US-05 can take 48 hours to show signs depending upon the variables of your pitch.  Temperature is critical to yeast.  Did you pitch in the proper temp range?  You mention hydrating the yeast.  What temp did you use for that?

hydrated the yeast at about 75 degrees, the wort was at 70

If fermentation hasn’t started by now, and you’re sure about that, then yeah those were dead packets of 05. Two packets of healthy 05 takes off like a rocket 8-12 hours post-pitch, hydrated or not.

just took a hydrometer reading it was 1.002 so the lid must not have been tight and it fermented out in 2 days never had this happen before  thanks for the help though

I was thinking this may have been the problem…Buckets are notorious for that.
