Has anyone on this forum had the opportunity to try this.  It’s the BrewDog beer that just set the record for strongest beer at 32% ABV.  I guess it began life as an 10%abv Imperial Stout and then in colaboration with an Ice Cream maker was frozen and then re-frozen until the result was a 32% beer…

I personally have not had this beer.  It seems that beers now days are becoming more and more extreme.  Have you had an opportunity to try this beer?  If so, how can you describe the flavor?  Does it have much alcohol burn to it?  From what I understand, this is the same method that is used to make Eisbock from Dopple Bock.  The beer is frozen and ice is chipped away to create a higher alcohol beer.  A older method of distilling perhaps.

Just got an e-mail that a liquor store in Denver is going to take a pre-order for this beer.  $70 dollars for a 12 oz bottle.  It has to be shipped from Scotland - BrewDog Brewing - and is 32% ABV…That’s 64 proof…Is that still beer?    :o

i still give the crown to sam adams utopias as it’s not an eisbeer.

I’ve had that a few times, also an interesting beer!

i was lucky enough to find two bottles this year.  haven’t opened one up yet though.

I call that distilled beer, so I wouldn’t give it a “crown”, unless the crown would be for “world’s lowest ABV whiskey” perhaps!  Freeze distillation is still distillation, despite the use of freezing instead of an alambic.  The one problem I could see with this is that freeze distillation doesn’t give the opportunity to discard the “heads” and “tails” so you could have a higher presence of high alcohols and other impurities that might add up to a wicked hangover with excessive indulgence.
