Hopefully, it will start up any day now. We had some server setup issues, but those have been resolved. Gary has written a message for sign up that AFAIK will be going out any day now. Drew and I will start out as mods, but only until volunteer mods can be found. A lot of people said they’d volunteer. If they do, TT will continue. If they don’t, it likely won’t…just that simple. That said, how’d you like to be a TT moderator?
Hey Denny
I would not know what was involved being a moderator. I am just getting back to this thread after a week. I would worried about taking on a responsibility that I may not be able to follow through with. That said, how does moderating work?
We’re still working through the last few issues. We haven’t forgotten out promise, but remember it’s all volunteers. I won’t venture a guess as to when it’ll start up, but from my point of view it’s pretty close. Drew may have a better answer since it’s his baby.
Having been a more usual reader and replier of Tech Talk in preference to the AHA Forums, I am willing to wait.
IF life evens out in the next couple of months the way I hope…I would be willing to help monitor a new Tech Talk; NOT before the beginning of July, though.
Things are stadning by and waiting for the starting gun.
Moderators will basically be required to review memberships and postings to make sure the forum stays AHA members only and that posts stay on the mark.
I signed up and received my first edition of BrewTech Talk yesterday. It was dated Sunday 7/17/11. Not much going on yet, but that’s probably cause it just got started. A check of the archives shows it went live on 7/6/11. Always late to the party, me… :
It looks to be an email and archived forum combined. Perhaps to introduce those addicted to email forums to the advantages and instant gratification of live forums?
I reviewed the BrewTech Talk protocol…
I’m confused… what’s different about it compared to the AHA forum, especially since we have to be members to subscribe to either one? Not trying to be snarky… just confused.
