There Is Now A Beer That Would Help You Reach Your Creative Peak

There is some scientific truth to how a little drink can help boost creativity—according to Professor Jennifer Wiley of the University of Illinois at Chicago, “a blood alcohol level of 0.075% is optimal for creative problem solving”.

Is that just a hair under “legally under the influence level of .08?” I know it really does not take much to get to that level, but there has to be a disconnect somewhere between unable to operate motor vehicles and creative. I know it says to follow instructions to hit the sweet spot, but it won’t be released with that label any time soon in the states. The government does not feel that we as Americans can or would control ourselves with those constraints

I find I’m most creative after my 2nd cup of coffee. Drinking alcohol destroys my creativity. But I become a God on a Foosball table at about that blood alcohol level.

I was crossfaded in Prauge 10 years back playing foosball in a very odd subterranean bar. I got all matrix-y with my playing and was planning passes and strategy. I’ve never been as good as I was that night.

I’m creative after coffee too, but I turn into a ping pong playing ninja after a few beers. Untouchable.  ;D

I literally drink coffee from the time i wake up until I go to bed so I’m totally immune to it, but once 2-3am rolls around my creativity goes into overdrive. I also have a craving for Guinness around 4am for some reason.

Makes perfect sense to me. A slight buzz is relaxing, loosening inhibitions, thus freeing creative thought. It’s just another take on Hemingway’s famous “write drunk; edit sober” quote.

Hold my beer and watch this!
