Hey all! Long time lurker here with a cautionary tale…
Important lesson 1: Always do an equipment check. I was getting my mash tun ready to go, when I noticed something that would have most certainly put a crimp in my Coffee Oatmeal Stout. Any guesses as to what this little guy is?
Important lesson 2: Always buy doubles. I just replaced my cooler’s line last brew, and bought enough tubing for another down the line. Turns out that “down the line” was today!
Yep, slug. This was stored in my basement, which is fairly dry. But evidently has slugs in it.
I’m glad he decided to stick around, because if he decided to leave, I’d have no clue he was there. Meaning that it would be coated with slime, and I’d be none the wiser.
Not really interested in finding out the effect of slug slime on stout.
