Vevor all in one

Just had my Vevor AIO delivered yesterday. 8 gallon, 110v. I currently have a Brewzilla 4. I’ll be using them both in a system I’m setting up. I’ll use one for an HLT. Pump that over to my mash tun and from there pump it the boil kettle. I’m programming a Raspberry pi5 to control it all. Mash temp, sparge temp and boil. I’ll also be able to adjust the intensity of my boil. Utilizing flow meters, I will set the exact amount of water to mash and sparge with and the pump will turn on and off when level is reached. A second flow meter will go between the mash tun and BK so I know the exact amount transfered, as well as one between the BK and fermentor. The cool part is, once it’s all done all ill need to do is import a recipe from Beersmith and everything will be set. Volumes, temps, hops additions. It will be built so that if i should ever desire, I can unplug either AIO and use it as God intended. I’m pretty excited to begin. It will be a process starting with a lot of cutting and welding but im looking forward to it.

Good to see ya again, Weaz!

I haven’t gone anywhere, Denny. Just a crazy life. I still see you on FB from time to time.

Just wondering why you would take 2 all in one brewing systems and make a 3 kettle system out of it. Will your Raspberry Pi be able to turn the heating elements and pumps on and off? To make it fully automatic, you should have a hoist lift the grain basket and sparge at the approriate time.

Short answer, because I want to, and I can. LOL

Yes, the PI will control everything. Elements, Pumps, etc… Also flow meters to dial in exact volumes. Worked on it this weekend. So far Im to the point of reading temps with my probes and have them controlling my SSR’s. Its been a fun project so far.

Keep going and definitely share updates—automation is awesome! I wanted to buy a Brewie system back when it first came out but missed my chance. I actually have several Raspberry Pis and a 4-channel relay module that I’ve never fully utilized, and your project might be the exact motivation I need to dust them off and start experimenting. To make it fully automatic, I need to find some motorized valves to switch between circulating the mash through a HERMS coil and redirecting it to the boil kettle, but it’s so satisfying to solve. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle it!

I was going to use BrewPi. I want to use flow meters to turn my pump on and off to deliver a set amount of mash and sparge water to my mash tun, I batch sparge. Then, another flow meter to monitor how much wort is going to my boil kettle. Apparently BrewPi is not able to do this so I decided to go it alone.
