I am brewing with wet hops for the first time tomorrow. I believe they are cascade (my friends hops not mine). I will be using them as flavoring hops. I expect to use 7 ounces at 10 mins. about how much wort can I expect to lose to absorption? 5ish gallon brew. I generally brew a little over 5 gallons so I actually get 5 gallons of beer.
My guess is that you’ll lose a close to a half quart of wort in that 7 ounces. Really depends on how dry they were when picked.
