a friend of mine has a harvest surplus of fresh hops. Omege, Brewers Gold and maybe a bit of Phoenix. Being a generous chap, he’ll be donating a bunch of them to me, so I’ll be brewing later this week.
Ideas or suggestions for anything which might benefit from these hops (in their wet and green form), I’d be glad to hear them.
I read somewhere that hops can have three types of stems: red, white and green. If they’re red you can’t brew with them. Is this true? What color are the stems of your hops?
I’ve only seen green but I thought some varieties like Czech saaz normally have red bines and some of the ornamental varieties (like sunbeam) have yellow bines.
To my knowledge all hops are non-poisonous but I am not a medical professional.
