What is Wheaton's Law?

The thread below was locked for violating Wheaton’s Law…  What is that?

Wheaton’s Law = Don’t be a dick

Don’t be a dick on the internet. I guess I crossed a line.

I didn’t see anything from you that I wouldn’t have said.

Haha!  OK.  I’ll do my best to abide by Wheaton’s Law.  I assume Will Wheaton of Big Bang fame.

Stand By Me- Gordy Lachance.

Yep, same guy.  ;D

What, no STTNG reference?

Crusher, Wesley Crusher, ensign that is

For sure. I’m a Trek nerd. Not Con nerdish, just a big fan. Still prefer the original, though.

That character sucked.

He was a lot more enjoyable in Stand by Me

Agreed.

I think he as an actor was fine in TNG. Wesley Crusher sucked.

I played poker against him in a hotel room at MacWorld NY in either 2000 or 2001. He sucked at that too.

Edit: Wil Wheaton, the guy, is by all accounts awesome. I meant Wesley Crusher sucked, and also that Wil Wheaton was bad at poker.

Haven’t met him, but I agree with the Wesley/Will differences

;D

STTNG 4 LIFE, but Wesley was the weakest part of the early seasons. I’m entertained by Wil’s low key career roles; Eureka and the Guild wouldn’t be the same without him.

My lower leg:

That’s dedication, and considering at least one of my tattoos, I can understand and appreciate that level of fandom

Yeah, sorry I don’t wield mod hammers very often. But I feel like if I need to swing the hammer, it’s usually for violations of Wheaton’s law.

No worries about what it was about and I chopped out the parts of the thread that were not needed for history.
