What's Brewing This Weekend - 9/23 Edition

What’s on the table?

I’m pulling some experiments right now in tincture making, but I’ve got a few things to transfer and some trouble to cause so who knows what the weekend might bring. Might brew a middling Scottish Ale to provide sufficient yeast for a truly goofy idea I’ve got going on.

I brewed a Rochefort 8 clone last weekend, and am waiting for some Staropramen yeast to arrive in the mail, so the only brewing I will do this weekend is making a lager starter.

Its also keg cleaning time again.

Brewing a 1 gallon batch of something resembling the 1839 barclay perkins XXX from the shut up about barclay prekins blog.

Couldn’t find organic mild malt so toasted 10 pounds of pale malt at 230 for two hours to get close. we will see.

and with the second runnings a small beer of sorts. gonna have to see about some way to up the body on this by capping the mash i would guess but any ideas are welcome.

I’m hoping to sneak in a brew session, but I just don’t know yet.

Munich Dunkel.
I’m pretty excited, as this will be my first dunkel.
I’ll be reusing yeast from my Light Lager…Wyeast 2124.

Dry-hopped American Stout. Made this last year and it was fantastic!

Also using the cake from this beer to make a big, badass imperial stout the week after.

Finally brewing again. It will be a Weizen on Sunday. I prepared the yeast starter last night. Still debating the mashing schedule, but I will be brewing for sure.

after a month of non activity, im brewing this weekend my first AIPA, think im gonna used Cascade and maybe some Citra… also Cascade for Dry Hopping in the secondary, for first time my brand new wort chiller (SS)
yeah, im so excited!

Doing a Belgian dark strong on Saturday night.  Gotta get another 9+ percenter in the pipeline for when the current keg of golden ale kicks.

Brewery get hit by the storms?  How’s the Brutus?

I’ll be doing something similar to Rochefort.  My first time using Candi Syrup 180 and 45 and my starter is already going.

No damage to the brewery. The Brutus system  is raring and ready to go now. Looking forward to brewing on Sunday.

I’m brewing a rye stout on Friday night while my wife is at her drinking party book club.

Cereal mashing a rice based CAP Sunday.

Lots o’ keg/ carboy cleaning for starters, then onto brewing. The Patersbier will be ready for secondary leaving a great cake of 3787 which I will harvest and pitch appropriately into 12 gallons of Tripel on Saturday.

I’m hosting my annual Oktoberfest party on Saturday.  I might pick up ingredients for next weekend’s Bière de Garde brew.  I also plan to spend some time rethinking some of my recipes.  I’ve had a couple of fails in a row, I’m sorry to say.  :-[

Good luck with the paartay! Sorry about the Helles.

My turn to circulate this weekend so no brewing. Unless I want to brew on Monday it’ll have to be tomorrow after I rack a bitter to kegs.

Maybe an IPA with a repitch? The bitter was only 1.044 anyway…

I’m picking grapes for a friend on Saturday, and the brew club meets Sunday.  Not sure I’ll sneak in a brew unless we get two tons of grapes picked in half a day.  We wll be brewing up an extract kit at brew club, one of the Irish band members is getting into brewing.  Yay!

I’m doing two brews this weekend… an Autumn Amber and a Cream Ale… laying in supplies for the long winter ahead.

I will be brewing a dunkelweizen on Saturday.  I plan on using the recipe from brewing classic styles.
