Reminds me… if someone wants some hops and wants to PayPal the shipping, they’re yours. I don’t want to toss them and don’t want to brew a whatchgot IPA either. 3/4# simcoe whole, 1/3# simcoe pellets, 1/2# mt hood, 4 individual ounces of mosaic. Should all fit in a USPS flatrate envelope. $10?
Actually those three hops would play well together, so it wouldn’t be a reach at all to make an IPA with them. It’d be good. If my freezer wasn’t full (overly) I’d take you up on it !
I used Amarillo and Hallertauer Mittelfrueh in my Rye India Pale Lager and liked the results. You could bitter with Columbus for an extra layer of complexity.
To the OP, Sterling will be really nice. I’d skip the NB’s, the EKGs, the Horizon and maybe the HMf. 4-5 hop varieties is my limit before things start getting muddled.
Thanks for all the input! I ended up using Columbus for a 60 minute addition, and then Amarillo, Cascade and Citra for 15, 10, 5, and whirlpool additions. I’ll dry hop with Cascade and Citra.
Thanks again for the help!
LOL! It would probably be cheaper to fly you here!
I sent beer ONE time to someone whose opinion I wanted, telling him I would send it BEFORE I checked on shipping costs. HOLY H*** that is expensive! I could have brewed a 5 gallon pale ale with what it cost!
I wouldn’t use the Amarillo if they are pellets. I haven’t like anything I’ve brewed with Amarillo pellets from the 2013 crop. There were lots of complaints going around about them.
And you have Cascade listed twice on your list
I’d probably go Columbus, Cascade, Citra, and maybe bitter with Horizon.
