Wilco Tango Foxtrot

Lagunitas Jobless Recovery Ale. A Malty 7.84% hoppy brown ale. Reminds me a bit of the batch I made after the blizzard this year. Hearty Brown with a high alpha chinook (13.2AA) bittering hop, and a fairly high alpha (7.0AA) cascade to finish. The Lagunitas is another lovely thing -  I think I’ll have to get a case of this one.

whiskey tango foxtrot is what i think you mean but we get the point.

Maybe that’s what they meant but whiskey would have crowded the label too much? You did make me look again though.

My apologies, i understand what you are referring to now.  In my old navy days whiskey tango foxtrot, is the correct alphabet for WTF, was used for well,  WTF. I didn’t realize it was the name of a beer.  Now i have to find one.

I doubt the feds would allow the name to go through as it would be confusing to buyers.

That’s what I was thinking, the Whiskey in the label would probably confuse folks.

India Papa Alpha might not be a bad name for an IPA!  One high in alpha acid, of course!

Sounds yummy! Maybe the name is a nod to the band Wilco, who have an album called Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

Got the chance to try some at our club’s Big Brew Day bash.  Very tasty.

No, I’m fairly certain they were taking the What The F? angle.

Its good beer - sadly, I seem to only really like the one offs that Lagunitas does.

Correct. It is against TTB regs to have to have something such as ‘whiskey’ on a beer label, unless it is used in a manner such as ‘aged in whiskey barrels’

Wilco is “Will Comply” and is the only other radio protocol I can think of at the moment that starts with a W, so it seems like a good choice to me. Absent whiskey, of course, but since all my comparisons end that way it’s barely worth mentioning.

Well waddaya know…

You, sir, are awesome.

NO its obviously WTF?

I liked it.  My first HB was called Fat Kid and it is much like WTF?  a hoppy brown.
