Decent choice?
I don’t have much experience with this strain.

Perfect choice, man. It attenuates well but leaves a nice full mouthfeel. Awesome in stout (or porter, amber, APA for that matter).
Unless I was looking for some English character, 1450 would be my preferred yeast as well. Same reasons Hoosier noted.
Its my favorite strain for Stouts and Porters. As Neddles said, unless your looking for English character its the way to go.
Cool. I originally wanted to use an English strain, but I couldn’t decide which one so I went with the 1450.
Hoping to get this brewed next weekend.
10 lbs. Maris Otter
1.5 lbs. toasted, flaked oats
.5 lbs. each of English dark crystal, roast barley, and pale chocolate malt
East Kent Goldings; 2 packs of 1450
For English I like 1469. The recipe looks tasty.
Sounds great!
I’ve used it in many different styles. Its very versatile.
