I really enjoyed answering the survey but was rushing to get elsewhere when I did, so I’m appreciative for this additional conversation. My NPO experience is as a longtime active member of one of the largest trade associations in the U.S. The way we handle the geography quiz is that “American” includes the Americas, and we have an international membership category plus a member affinity group for international members.
I too agree with keeping the homebrewing community a big tent for those who make beer and beer-like things at every skill level. I think that is strategic in terms of membership growth and also reflects the ethos of the association. All of us had our first brew day once upon a time.
