Finished 1BBL system

Just the cheaper way to go right now, I will be making a walking out of a air conditioner when I set up my shed.

Very nice. One thing that I noticed is the the pump should be oriented horizontal with the outlet pointing up.

This is not true there are 6 pictures in the thread from March Pumps Pic #5 is an acceptible way to mount the pumps and since I have already use it this way and they worked flawlessly then this is the way they will stay.
Thanks for the input.

Walter says vertical with the head on top is fine.

Beautiful brewstand.

I have a similar setup (Brutus 10 design), and someone asked me if I was intending to install a CIP system. My response was “probably not”. It took enough time to build the stand, tweek the equipment and start brewing great beer. I just want to enjoy it now.

True that, I don’t do CIP maybe in the future, need a bigger pump to make it work properly, just got a Freezer for my 40 gal conical. Money money money

Would it eventually be worth it? How long do you spend cleaning?

OK, I remembered the one I said as being #1, but that one you have is ok.

I only brewed one batch and I would say it took two people 1.5 hours to clean no small amount of time but they are 40 and 45 gallon pots.
If you run a CIP you need a large volumn pump to spin the ball at a decent RPM to do your cleaning for you.
Is it worth it eventually? I dont know maybe, but at this size I will brew once a month maybe, that makes it not worth it to me at this time.
Cheers

Second time on system and I added a 40 gallon Conical it is now holding 31 gallons of Pale Ale and working like a charm. Holding at 66 degrees +or- 1 deg

I’m feeling a bit of envy

Me too!

look at it this way, at that scale he only gets to brew three times a year! ::slight_smile:

I love those burners.

Depends on how many beer drinking friends you have (and I have alot) so up that to 6 times a year. 8) and if I want to brew a 12% stout I can brew 8 to 10 times a year at 20 to 25 gal a batch.

awesome job!

So I have used this system twice now, and with a few little problems each time it still didnt screw with my efficiency at all, I did 80% and 82% respectively. Im happy, next I will attempt 25 gallons of imperial Stout
almost 100 Lbs of grain and an OG of 1.115. cross your fingers, (ok ill cross mine)!!
