Tropical session white ipa?

If you are brewing today I would skip the whole decanting process.  Your 3/4 liter starter won’t hurt your beer.  Pitch it active.

Fermenting away nicely only problem is a leaky lid on the bucket but have been reassured to RDWHAHB

Anyone know what category this would enter in for a competition?

I think that until the new guidelines are adopted, it doesn’t fit any style.

Dam so basically specialty beer if I really wanted to enter it?

Well took grav sample today and it’s below expected OG by beer smith hit 1.010 the aroma is pretty crazy going to set out in the garage to cold crash and prolly bottle in the next few days

Software FG estimates are just that. No worries, 1.010 is fine for IPA. I’d rather have an IPA that finished @ 1.010 than 1.018 any day.

Yea I’m not complaining that’s for sure lol,  the grav sample was nice and dry like I like my ipas and I was craving more once it was gone I think this is going to amazing with carbonation

Alil update the aroma is straight out of the tropics, wish I would of slip whirlpool in half and dry hopped for a more aroma front but it’s but it’s pretty tasty as now and next time I brew it I’ll split the whirlpool and dryhop for sure

Glad the recipe worked out for you!

Looks nice!

So the Aroma on my beer is definitly just like this it’s crazy I knew I smelled it some where but couldn’t put my finger on it,  lol thought it was interesting

Yeah, there are some crazy hop aromas in a lot of the new hops out there. El Dorado smells like watermelon Jolly Ranchers, Citra, Galaxy and others like mango (and other tropical fruits), Calypso like apple and pear, Lemon Drop like, well, lemon drops, etc etc.  Cool stuff.

Yea everytime I smelled the aroma I was like this is familiar but what the hell is it,  then I opened this today and was like holy crap this is my beer lol makes the what you know about ipa a total different view on aroma and flavor lol,  this has amarillo citra and Galaxy so all tropical goodness in the whirlpool still wish I would of cut 1/2 oz out of each of the whirlpool and add the taken out whirlpool to a dry hop addition for more in your face aroma

You happen to have any pics of finished beers of this recipe?  Would love to see how close I came to color? Solid recipe that’s for sure I tweaked the hops since I love hops and more are better lol

That’s the great thing about brewing your own beer - you can tweak it next time !  Looks like you did a nice job.
