Retired. Been dabbling in home brewing the last 5 years switching to all grain after the first two extract batches. I started when I sold my sideline beekeeping business and tried to make mead about 6 times. I failed to ever make a mead I liked and thought beer sounds better so tried that. I have made about 100 batches since mostly 3 gallons at a time. I rarely keg and almost always bottle condition. I am not a consistent brewer batch to batch since I keep changing up my process making smaller and smaller batches, dabbling with salts for pH, or using different water sources. I love the whole process from growing yeast to drinking the product. It is not unlike beekeeping in many ways farming the bees and farming your yeast.
