I never really cared for Amarillo. To me it tastes too close to St. Joseph Baby Aspirin.
Loftus, Carpenter and Perrault, from the Hop Union Hop Variety Handbook.
Remind me later and I’ll check the hops I have at home. They are labeled with the farms, I have simcoe and amarillo.
Ok, I lied. They are labeled with farm codes and some of them also have the names, but none of the Amarillo do. The Simcoe I have are all from Perrault. Now if we knew how Hop Union numbers the farms we’d be in business.
For what it’s worth, the info sheet I have has 2 different farm codes for Amarillo, and 3 (plus FreshHops) for Simcoe.

Interesting. I pick up a dirt taste with Amarillo. I suppose I should say “earthy”.
The one hop variety I’d like to try, but am told it too will be in short supply, is Sorachi Ace.
Guess come September I will start pinging the Puterbaugh Farms website in hopes of getting a pound of some of these varieties when they get listed.

I got a pound of it from them a few months ago - maybe March or April. So my guess is that at least last year it wasn’t in too short of a supply. BTW, it’s quite nice.
