Advent Calendar 2022

My wife just picked up a Brewer’s Advent Calendar for 2022 at Costco.

A little early. I don’t think I’ll wait for Advent.

Looks like a great selection.  I got the calendar about 4 years ago and enjoyed it.  I put this one on my list to Santa for this year.

We’re not even halfway through September. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Also, I see they’re still heavily skewed towards German styles.

Well, it’s always imported from Germany, so…

I had her buy it because there is no where else I can find so many Helles, Pilsners, and Marzens in a single purchase.

That could explain it…

I have bought mine as well. I always wait. You can wait, too. Just channel your inner George Castanza.

Still not stocked around here — neither the beer nor the wine calendar.  :-\

I got mine as well last week. I dutifully wait until December 1 and drink them as scheduled. I enjoy texting with my friends who also bought the calendar, as with the working at home routine from the pandemic, we all crack one open around 4 p.m.  8) Sharing the tasting notes with friends reminds me of the old BABE competition with the BrewRats back in the day.

I started drinking mine a day or two after I got them. I’m not going in order. I just select the can that looks good that night. I took them out of the package before noticing the calendar marks on the side of the box. So, I don’t know the correct order.

I couldn’t bring myself to buy it. It was $70 and I just couldn’t see paying $3/beer.

I splurged on one. Interesting lineup of beers and I too tore into the box early. Too bad I have yet to find a beer that isn’t badly oxidized:(

I’ve been a little underwhelmed by the Costco one so far, too.

But I liked both of the beers I’ve tried so far from the Aldi calendar.

I didn’t see the aldi beer calendar, I did grab the cheese one yesterday.

My wife grabbed the last one in our local Aldi. Apparently they only do one release each November — these are all house brands (the a Costco one, by contrast, being all different breweries and branded as such); so I guess they only contract for what they’re sure they can move.
