My wife and I are going to Disneyland in a couple weeks and I’d be interested to try some local beer, although this isn’t a “beercation” and we will be limited to what is in walking distance. There’s a place in California Adventure that serves a handful of “local-ish” options, Karl Strauss, Pacifico and Sierra Nevada, but of course it’s spendy. 8$ for either 16-20oz (menu doesn’t specify).
I’d mostly be curious what kind of stuff we could find in bottles (22oz or 6 packs) to take back to the hotel room. There’s a WalMart Neighborhood Market a couple blocks from our hotel and a 7-11 around the corner from Disney. Not sure the 7-11 down there has a devoted craft section like they do here in Portland.
We were there in February and stayed at the Candy Cane Inn, which is right down the street from the main entrance. I wasn’t until we were leaving that there was a store right next door that had a big sign saying “Craft Beer”. Unfortunately, I never made it in there so I can’t tell you anything about it. It wasn’t a huge place though.

You missed out, but the rest of your trip sounded pretty awesome.
The immediate area around Disney isn’t too exciting unless you want to eat at chain restaurants. See if your hotel shuttle will take you to a good liquor store if you don’t want to go to breweries, but at minimum I think you should take an uber to noble and bottle logic.
Yeah, Noble is walkable, less than 3 miles from our hotel, assuming the weather is nice (which it should be). It’s a super short trip, only going to be there 3 days, but thanks for the great suggestions, I’ll be on the lookout!
Yeah, talked to my wife about it when we got home and she mentioned getting an Uber, it’s a bit far to walk, and with two days in the parks we’re gonna be walking a lot.
The Oggi’s pizza and beer looks interesting as well.
Even though it is no longer a craft brewery since being bought out by in-Bev last September, Golden Road Brewing has a tap room in-between the 5 and the 57 near Angel Stadium. They make some of my favorite IPAs and one of my favorite saisons (the grapefruit one). I’ve only been to the Glendale location, but a co-worker said he was pleased with this location.
Thanks for the suggestions. We were pretty limited on time and had some trouble figuring out the bus system. The city transit and the Anaheim Resort Transit overlap a little bit, but the ART was not as self explanatory as they make it seem (go figure).
We ended up only making it to Anaheim Brewery, which was the closest to our hotel, but it was quite good. Their flagship Cal Common (just called Anaheim 1888) was ok, but mildly flavored. Their Columbus hopped IPA was pretty good, although I would consider it an American Style not the European Style they list it as, but so be it. Their seasonals were a Belgian Tripel that was really fantastic and the “Tavern Ale”, not sure the style for that one but it was good. The Dark Scotch Ale was pretty good and malty. The rest of the beers were servicable, not outstanding but good.
While we were in the Parks we also tried two Karl Strauss beers being served in California Adventure. Those are San Diego and not Anaheim, but they were new to me. Tower 10 IPA and the Windansea Hefewiezen that were both top notch. Really good beers and perfect for a hot sunny day. Very refreshing.
