Anvil All-in-One with Steam Condenser

I am curious how others have worked with the Anvil Steam Condenser attached to the Anvil All-in-One. I tried to brew for the second time with this setup yesterday, plugged into a 110 volt outlet. I could not get a boil or a hot break, and I sustained for quite a long time. The 6.5 gallons of wort hovered at a measured 106 F, and never visibly boiled. After trying cracking the lid 1-2 inches, I got a little more activity (intermittent slight simmer), and persisting for quite a while I eventualy cut my losses and transferred the wort to a brew kettle, took outside, and did the boil on my Blichman propane burner. I did have a .25 gallon loss while the wort was in the Anvil leading me to believe there was some protein conversion occuring? My conclusion was that this setup (steam condenser, all-in-one) (a) does not work well indoors with a larger volume than 3.5 galons (I was succesful before with an extract recipe indoors), and/or (b) perhaps I need to make the move to a 220 outlet? Any success stopries or solutions others have had welcome!

Hi there, I brew with a steam condenser on top of my 10.5gal Anvil foundry everytime I brew; and although I’m running mine on 240v, I get a rolling boil even at 65% heat.

I would definitely check and see if yours is putting the correct output. Start perhaps by boiling water?

Good luck
