Are there any small breweries in California that offer only contract brewing or fermenter rental?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a small brewery in California that works under one of these two models:

  1. Contract brewing only
    or

  2. Fermenter / tank rental only

I’m not looking for a large co-packer. I’m more interested in small or independent craft brewery examples.

Does anyone know of, has worked with, or has heard of a brewery in California that offers one of these options? I’m especially interested in places that are open to smaller batch production.

Sorry I don’t have an answer for you, but was thinking that you might get responses if you indicated what “smaller batch” means to you. Are you thinking 5 barrels? 50 barrels? 500 barrels? I’m not sure it will help, but it’s worth a try.

Thank you, that’s a very good point. By “smaller batch,” I mean around 5–15 barrels (bbl), not large-scale production. What I’m mainly looking for is a small or independent craft brewery that may be open to either contract brewing or fermenter/tank rental for relatively limited production runs.

I agree that being more specific may help, so thank you again for the suggestion.
