Beer Pipeline

I’m at a loss for words.

I remember reading that Bitburger has a pipeline between the old and new breweries is Bitburg, and they are not so close together in the town.

This appears to be a pipeline for carbonated beer that flows to a reservoir and thence directly to taps in a tent.  I assume for Octoberfest?  Do they have permanent tent installations for pouring draft beer?  That would be odd, but I could respect it.

It would be this place. It is more than what I think of when I hear “tent”. Don’t know if these are dismantled after the Oktoberfest.

The picture on the link to the pipeline article is somewhere in the country side of a random pipeline, not near the Oktoberfest grounds.

That’s a pretty hardcore “tent.”  Nothing like what get’s set up here in Lincoln Square for German Fest.

On a complete side note, would you believe that I had a German exchange student stay with my family when I was in high school and he had never heard of Oktoberfest?  I was stunned, but he did seem very sheltered.

If the student was not from Bavaria, would not be surprised he didn’t know. It is just one 70 or so acre site in Munich. Other cities have their own fests at differing times. Americans just know Octoberfest, as it is the biggest and most famous.

He was from Koln so maybe that makes sense.  You may have just put to rest the disbelief I have carried with me for almost 25 years.  Thank you.
