Brewie party kegs

I just saw these on more beer.

Anybody had any experience with similar products? I think these are new since you can only pre-order and I don’t see them on brewie’s website.

My questions. How do you carbonate? How do you fill, reuse, and clean?

Filled and cleaned through a bung on the top and primed with sugar or another fermentable.

I’m surprised all the newer systems are using these now. Got a real bad wrap years ago for bulging and blowing bungs.

Maybe redesigned? I have seen some import beers use these mini kegs. And bought one or two myself.
If I remember correctly they don’t store too well either. Kind of a, tap and use it all thing. Similar to a growler but probably a little better.

They are slightly modified from the commercial kegs I believe. I haven’t seen one in a while, but I think the Heineken kegs had the tap on the top where these have a bung. Pico uses them for the C systems. Maybe Denny knows more.

These look more like the Bittburger kegs. They SHOULD make PERFECT 5L casks. There’s enough space for the yeast to settle out, and a spile will fit in the top rubber bung.

I say “should” because I kept a Bit keg for just that purpose…till I moved and tossed it in the purge that happened before and never tested it. YMMV, but I think it’s worth a go…

A long time ago I used mini kegs like these.  I have never seen the ones with a built in tap available to homebrewers before.  My system required a tap you needed to push through the bung.  The tap handle also housed a 16g CO2 bottle.

These look like they would work great for parties.
